Shall we take a photograph of SYS-DAT Group?
The company was founded in Milan back in 1977, and with unique operational and corporate continuity, SYS-DAT has now evolved into a group of 400 people and 12 subsidiary companies distributed throughout the country.
Turnover in 2020 was 30 million euros and that of 2021 was 34 million euros. In the early 1980s, the first customer in the high fashion industry allowed us to specialize precisely in the fashion&luxury segment, thus drawing the evolutionary line on which the history of SYS-DAT Group was then built.
How do you detail your activities as a system integrator?
The role fulfilled by a system integrator is to bring heterogeneous software together and make it talk to each other. SYS-DAT Group can be called an advanced system integrator capable, not only of integrating different solutions, both proprietary and non-proprietary, but, far more, of making them consistent with the specific business needs of clients.

The Group’s expertise is ensured by the wealth of human resources present who are able to combine the latest technologies with the growing needs of companies belonging to specific industry sectors.
The operational methodology has always been efficiency-oriented based on industry best practices; Agile methodology has been used for several years for both R&D and project activities with Clients.
The role of a system integrator becomes increasingly important as technology evolves. And the demand for business services is expected to have increased exponentially in light of issues related to Industry 4.0, IIoT, cloud, and so on.
Is this really the case?
What is the level of technological maturity of Italian companies?
Technology is constantly evolving, so I believe that constant research and development is the key to being able to cope with it, however, there is always the need to lower this kind of analysis within the companies to which one is trying to make the “leap forward.”
I believe that Italy is no longer so far behind compared to a few years ago, today companies have realized that digitization processes are fundamental and can no longer do without them. The maturity of companies may not be very high, but I believe an absolutely irreversible process has now begun.
What are the possible future evolutions of the technologies you deal with and how do you plan to move to stay ahead of the curve, including anticipating customer needs?
One of the main evolutions of technologies today concerns artificial intelligence, thanks to which I am convinced there is a great opportunity for both practitioners and companies that will benefit from it. There is a very strong need to introduce AI into all business software; being able to take advantage of systems that evolve and learn as they evolve with the specific needs as they arise will enable a real disruption of any solution.
Another fundamental evolution I see in the cloud world: it will become increasingly critical to be able to guarantee streamlined and fast access to any software application by being able to do so from a wide variety of devices from anywhere in the world
